Sea trips & islands Snorkeling & dolphins
The Orange Bay snorkeling trip from Hurghada packs one of the best-loved islands on this coast into a single easy day. Orange Bay lies within the protected Giftun Islands, a stretch of sea known for pale sand and shallow turquoise water. You travel on a comfortable yacht with a sun deck, so the cruise itself feels like part of the holiday. Departures run every day. A transfer bus collects you from your hotel in Hurghada, El Gouna, Makadi Bay or Sahl Hasheesh at around 08:00 and drives you to the marina, and the whole outing takes about six hours.
Once the yacht reaches the island you get one hour ashore to swim, lie on the beach and take photos. Besides the beach time, the boat makes two snorkeling stops at coral reefs, where colorful fish and coral are easy to spot from the surface. Snorkeling equipment is provided, so you do not need to bring your own. Life jackets and safety equipment are on board, and the stops suit first-timers as well as confident swimmers.
Lunch is served on board, with water, soft drinks, coffee and tea during the day. Underwater photos and videos, beach towels, sunscreen and personal spending are not covered, so pack your own towel and sun protection. Bring your passport or a copy, since it may be checked at the port. After the last stop the yacht returns to the marina and the transfer takes you back to your hotel.
